Selected 12 months ago to develop the site by the government's housing and regeneration agency, we were recently granted planning consent by Warrington Borough Council for 237 new homes.
The development, located south of Curzon Drive, Keepers Road and Boddington Drive, will feature a range of one to five-bedroom bespoke homes adapted from our Heritage range, including 30% affordable homes.
Gareth Stansfield, land director for Redrow NW, said: “We’ve worked positively alongside the council, Homes England and the local community to progress plans for this site. The scheme has been designed to be sensitive to the surrounding residential community, and features extensive areas of green open space, mature trees, two new play areas and footpaths to connect to local walking routes. We will also be contributing over £2.6 million to the local authority for education, sports facilities and health infrastructure.”
“We’re looking forward to starting work over the summer. It’s a much sought after location, and we are confident it’s going to be a great place to live and also somewhere the wider community can enjoy.”
Jon Irvine, national development director at Homes England, said: “Homes England are delighted to have completed the disposal of this key development site in South Warrington to Redrow.
“The proposed development provides for a high-quality, well-designed place in a great location and Redrow's positive approach to consultation with local stakeholders has ensured the scheme will deliver what the local community needs. In addition to the 166 open market houses, the much needed 71 affordable homes being provided on site is greatly welcomed.
“We are looking forward to working with Redrow in the next phase of this development and seeing it integrate with the local community."
Located on the edge of Grappenhall Heys, close to the historic Walled Garden and Grappenhall Heys Community Primary School, the new homes are being built within easy reach of Warrington, Stockton Heath, and the north west motorway network.
All properties will feature air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water, reducing homeowners’ energy use, plus underfloor heating to the ground floors and EV charging points.
It is hoped the new homes will go on sale early next year.
We are already well known in the area, actively building at ten locations across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire, including nearby at Daresbury Garden Village. For more information see Redrow NW.
