Cottenham site manager wins prestigious award

18th July 2024
Redrow - News - Paul Peacock - NHBC winner

A site manager is celebrating after winning a Pride in the Job Award from the National Home Building Council for his work at a development in Cottenham – for the second time in a row.

Paul Peacock, our Site Manager from Willingham, received the Pride in the Job Award for on-site management at the Redrow South Midlands development Cottenham Grove in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire.

Running for 41 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges look for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality, award-winning site managers apart from the rest.

Paul, who has been a site manager for 32 years and who has worked for Redrow for seven years, has been based at Cottenham Grove since its launch in 2021. This is his second NHBC award with Redrow.

Don Burley, Construction Director, for Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are thrilled that Paul has received his second Pride in the Job Award with Redrow. This is testament to his dedication to the sector, and his passion for building high-quality homes which help to create thriving communities.

“A Pride in the Job Award is something that many site managers strive for, so it is truly an outstanding achievement and well-deserved – Paul, congratulations!”

Commenting on his award win, Paul said: “Winning this award is an incredible accomplishment and one I’m very proud of. Every time we hand over a completed new house and surpass clients' expectations, I know we've created a fantastic new home for a family.

“Working with a solid team that share my values has been critical to the development's success, and I'd like to thank them for all of their hard work – I wouldn't be able to do my job without their ongoing support."

Cambridge is a well-connected location, with accessible transport links to London for busy commuters, and a choice of three to five-bedroom homes for those with growing families. We are currently building new homes at Tudor Meadow, on Babraham Road, Cottenham Grove, on Rampton Road, and All Saints Gardens, on Haslingfield Road.
