Redrow, currently building nearby at Hedera Gardens in Hertfordshire, has donated £500 to Girlguiding Royston District, a group that offers activities and experiences for girls aged 4 to 18 years old.
The donation is being used to replace the main entrance and fire doors, which are over 50 years old and pose a health and safety risk, at the Girlguiding Royston District HQ on Garden Walk. The new doors will ensure both the girls and their leaders have a safer space for generations to come.
Marion Kett, Brownie Unit Leader, said: “It’s fantastic to receive this donation from Redrow which will have a huge impact on the girls in the local community who want to use our space to meet new friends and be part of a community that has been in Royston for over a hundred years.
“We rely on kind donations such as this to ensure we continue to have the facilities and space to accommodate those who join Girlguiding. We’re incredibly grateful – thank you, Redrow!”
Andrew Newman, our Sales Director at Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Girl guiding Royston District to provide a safe, secure, and happy environment for young girls to grow in.
“Being part of Girlguiding ensures that youngsters have the opportunity to experience adventures, earn badges, and learn important life skills, all while building new friendships.
“As members of the Hertfordshire community, we want to create and support thriving communities in and around the developments where we are building new homes, and supporting Girl guiding Royston District was a wonderful opportunity to do just that.”
