The church, on Chester Road in Little Sutton, is currently working to improve its community spaces used by church members and community groups
One of the jobs that needed doing was replacing the kitchen lighting with LED fittings which meet current safety standards.Pete Wildman, chair of the leadership team, said: “We have a well-fitted modern kitchen which is used on a regular basis. We host fundraising coffee mornings, run a regular parent and toddler group, and bi-monthly children’s church events. There are several community groups which hire our hall and kitchen on a weekly or occasional basis. The facilities are also hired out or made available for family parties, or for baptism and funeral catering so it’s wonderful that the lighting is now up to standard.”
The donation has come from our community fund, linked to Ledsham Garden Village, that has shared £10,000 between 10 groups and good causes from the area.
Caroline Thompson-Jones, area sales manager at Redrow NW, said: “The methodist church is a key asset to the community close to Ledsham Garden Village and we’re really pleased that the LED lights have now been installed which will benefit the church and all the groups who use the space.”
