Hartford Bowls Club is facing increased difficulty to sustain the standards of the green due to higher costs and has been looking for financial sponsorship to support the club's future.
Gill Symmons, secretary at Hartford Bowls, said: “Hartford Bowls is a privately run club that has been around for 100 years and is a valuable asset to the community but as with everything, rising costs are hitting us hard. Redrow’s donation has helped us in our mission to give the club a viable future and we are still looking for other businesses who may be able to help in any way.”
The club currently has 46 members who range in ages between 13 and 83. The number of people who come to the club to socialise is increasing on a weekly basis.
Caroline Thompson-Jones, area sales manager at Redrow North West, said: “Hartford Bowls Club is a familiar feature of Hartford and to hear of the impact rising costs is having on the club is hard to hear. Our donation will mean they can keep the green open for all members to use so they can continue to enjoy all the social benefits the sport offers.”
