Andrew has lived in both new build and second-hand properties throughout his life, so was aware of the energy-efficient benefits and low maintenance costs that come along with new builds. However, it was the exterior style and interior fittings that made Redrow’s New Fields a no brainer.
Andrew moved into his four bedroom detached Stratford home in Chicester last December and hasn’t looked back. Having previously lived further afield, he wanted to be walking distance to the city and close to the hustle and bustle of every day life. The luxurious home provides ample space for Andrew, as well as being a great hosting spot for his friends who also live close by and often come round to visit.
Andrew explains the motivations for the move: “What pushed me to buy a new build was a combination of two very important things – having a low maintenance home and being in a prime location. I had a few preferences, such as a long drive for two vehicles and a south or west facing garden, that were hard to find. I also wanted a generously sized kitchen and diner and an en-suite in the main bedroom. The property immediately checked all my boxes.
He continues: “I’ve lived in a number of new builds before, so knowing that I could secure a home in an ideal location that checked my preferences while being energy-efficient and low maintenance was a complete no brainer for me. The outside of the property is also very traditional while the interior is fitted with modern appliances. It’s hard to come by a new build property that has both that charm of a Victorian property while being completely new.”
Having lived in both second-hand homes and new builds, Andrew knew a new build was the best option to call his forever home.
He explains: “There’s no hidden surprises or costs when you buy a new build property – everything is brand new and comes with no complications. It’s already completed to a high standard. Having moved several times, I wanted a hassle-free smooth move and choosing Redrow was a great choice. I was very pleased with the process and everyone was helpful throughout.”
The energy efficient features of new builds means Andrew can enjoy a much warmer home to what he’s experienced in the past.
Andrew says: “I used to live in a big Edwardian flat in Hove and I found that it got cold as soon as you turned the heating off. It’s nice to put the heating on for just a short amount of time and have the home retain heat throughout the day – it’s much more economical.”
Nestled on the east side of Chichester’s charming character, New Fields was ideal for Andrew for being close to city life while also remaining secluded for a peaceful environment.
